Doesn't understand how a voter could pick Kerry
This is in response to the letter from Dee and Doug Hagan of May 29th. Enough already!
It is quite clear after numerous letters from the Hagans that they hate President Bush. I think anyone who reads the paper on a regular basis understands whom he or she plans to vote for. If I didn't know better I would swear they have been hired by The State Journal-Register to bash Bush. I understand that the Hagans' plan to vote for the most liberal senator in the U.S. Senate, even more liberal that Ted Kennedy or Hillary Clinton.
I understand that the Hagans would like to see our great country become more socialist than it already is, and under John Kerry the secularista would gain an even bigger stronghold on our nation, lowering the morality in our country even more than it is today.
I understand that our current president would be replaced by a guy who came about Purple Heart medals under very suspicious circumstances and came home from Vietnam putting his fellow soldiers in harm's way by denouncing the mission and attempting to turn his fellow Americans against them.
I could not vote for a gigolo who depends on finding two of America's richest women and marrying them to reach a status in life that he is unable to do for himself. I understand Kerry threw someone else's ribbons over the White House fence and proclaimed they were his own. I understand a vote for Kerry means a tax increase on all Americans, and an increase in the gas tax. I understand a vote for Kerry is like voting for nothing, since John Kerry flip-flops on practically every issue, except for liberal advances.
I would recommend to the Hagans that if that is the type of leadership they desire, perhaps they should consider moving to France or Canada. Yes, I love America, and because of it I will vote for Bush in November.
All right. ash will bite:
I his recent letter, Michael T. (“I love America and because of it I will vote for Bush…”) Burns continuously uses the word “understand.” Perhaps he does not understand that “understand” often is synonymous with “have heard” or “it is my impression.” In other words, I could be the victim of pernicious propaganda.
In his case, how appropriate. Meanwhile, instead of recommending that the Hagans move to France or Canada, he might consider moving to a “swing” state where his vote will matter in November. Surely he realizes – if not understands – that Kerry will carry Illinois; Chicago will see to that. As for the Hagans, who endear me more with each subsequent letter, they could move to New Mexico or Florida – both lovely places - where their votes would count against Bush.
I know I’d love to.
