Nothing like turning a punchline into a set-up:
Before it’s too late
Before these pinhead liberals and activist judges make it illegal to do so, I would like to wish all of my friends a very “Merry Christmas.”
George Ecklund, Springfield
As a non-Christian citizen of an overwhelmingly Christian society, I would like to say I really don’t mind being bombarded by Christmas for the last two months of every year of my life, but please don’t suggest that displays of Christmas – from religious commemorations and heartfelt greetings to silly secular songs and trees decorated with coffee paraphernalia that frankly cheapen the spirit of the occasion – are becoming an endangered species.
Ho ho ho. Cheap shots about “pinhead liberals” and other non-existent so-called politically correct contingencies aren’t funny.
