ash approvingly refers to her former fellow liberal letter writer. Alliteration at no extra charge.

Diane Greenholdt asks a salient question: why would a newspaper publish a journalist who, concurrent with numerous political and social events worth exploring, chooses to devote two consecutive columns to her personal legal trivialities?  In the midst of serious ethical concerns confronting at least two of her fellow conservatives – Tom DeLay and John Bolton – does it not seem particularly curious that she would decline to defend them in favor of focusing on her own, far less pressing matters?

Of course, when one scratches not far under the surface, Ann Coulter’s columns have always been about herself. In that sense, I suppose one might be grateful for her honesty in making it official.

As for Mr. Sullivan, whose letter appears above Ms. Greenholdt’s, I don’t know how “afraid” columnist William Raspberry is of FOX, as opposed to dismayed at a network billing itself as “fair and balanced news” actually shilling for the Republican party.  I surmise Mr. Raspberry, as I, would have no objection to FNC changing its slogan to “We balance the unfair liberal mainstream media” or “We report what we want you to think; you decide you agree with us.”

Truth – as ugly as it often is – ultimately triumphs over prettified lies.  In this complicated and nuanced world, anyone attempting to cope with it armed with “information” primarily from FOX “News” should be very, very afraid.
