Whatever this is the "appendage" to is long gone from ash's memory. No other contemporary document appears in her records. At any rate, the all-purpose message does stand alone.

While I do not consider myself a paranoid person, neither am I naïve. When someone declines to print a not only well-written but amusing letter on the grounds that "it wasn't, uh, a very good letter," the appropriate response is not to ask why, but, rather, what's the real reason?
I won't bore you with my speculations. Enclosed is a sampling of some of my particularly "not very good letters" that have recently appeared in your paper. I believe the point is obvious.
